Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)
Wow, this game is awesome! At least those are my thoughts after two races. Coming from the PS4, every other game from previous systems looks like an N64 game, but not this one. Crisp, vibrant graphics, and the game handles almost flawlessly. Controls take some getting used to, but overall, I think this game is fantastic!

It plays nice on the gamepad, the drift is quite good. Reminds me of Double Dash a little bit, control wise.
You can only carry one item at a time, I feel this makes the game harder! for the lead dog - you only have one defensive weapon to deploy, I like to have on in storage as well. Will have to adjust my game.
The new levels are pretty fun, the Retro tracks are decent selection. Really nice game. I already got my free game, and was given a $5 rebate card for that game as well. So, $10 back total I guess I iwll save it for Shovel Knight.

I guess you have to sign-up with Club Nintendo to register the game? The website is down for maintenance... Is there a way to do it through the Wii U?

If it controls like Double Dash, then I'm definitely not a happy camper, that pretty much means we got Mario Bobsled again instead of Mario Kart as the "Pipe Frame- Try Again if you got less than 4th" trilogy, DS and 7 offered. (The controls in Wii hardly mattered since item harrassment pretty made it practically luck)

Got to do it through Club Nintendo (you should use that anyway, as the free VC games are worth it). It is down now. I managed to get Pikmin 3, after a lot of trouble, but can't get to register my Club Nintendo coins at all. Don't worry too much, as you have until July 31st to get the free game.
Also, once I got the Pikmin code entered, a few hours later my digital deluxe points showed up and I got my $5, even though the eshop was acting up (I assume a lot of people were getting Pikmin 3, Mario, and Windwaker in a very short period).

Clearly this is a great game, but have you noticed that most of the tracks seem to be remakes of tracks from past games? What's up with that?

@VGC: No more than DS,7,or Wii. Just the usual Nitro and Retro Grand Prix Divide
It's just gotten to the point where you could play the entire collection of Mario Kart 64 from DS-Present if you wanted.

16 of these are brand new and 16 are from previous Mario kart games. Before each race it tells you what system they were on previously.
