How do you switch to an alternate control scheme?

Once you pick a stage to play, hit pause, and in the upper right hand corner of the gamepad there will be a option for you to toggle motion controls on and off.

I hope this helps you enjoy this really fun game

Also, I don't know if you're into the whole thing, but the Amiibo support for this game is probably the best I've seen.

What's so great about the Amiibo support?

It adds variety to the game play in the sense that it gives you different types of arwings to fly. Falco has a black arwing that doubles your firepower yet cuts your defense in half. This one is really good to be used to beat times And to achieve medals. The fox arwing gives you ann old school arwing from the snes days... where initially it is a lot harder to get good scores but it gives you unlimited charge bombs. These two arwing options give you kind of rogue squadron game feel where can strategize and decide which ship you want to take in the battle
