Quake III Arena (PC)

I've been playing Quake III Arena for the PC, a pioneer in the arena shooter subgenre, and I've gotta say, it's one of, if not THE fastest game I have ever played. All the characters move at something approximating the land speed record (no need for a sprint button), There are tons of bounce pads everywhere. As well as the ability to rocket jump like 50 meters in the air. All the weapons are impressively varied and totally fun to use, lending themselves to a host of different play styles. The graphics look amazing for 1999. All the animation and action is extremely fluid, and you'll find yourself wanting to come back and play many times. Overall, I'd give this game about a 92/100
