I'm enjoying Zelda, but what do the weapon numbers mean? 5 > 14?
A manual would have been nice.

Thats how much damage they do. So the one youre holding is 5, the one youre going to pick up or switch to is 14.

The numbers represent how much attack power each weapon has. The less than/greater than symbol is used when comparing the power of a weapon you have equipped to another one.

That's actually pretty common in games like that... Probably could have explained more but it's a common system.

I think there's an NPC or two that explains it, but since you don't have to talk to them you could end up never encountering that information.
