Hooked up my 360, so I decided to play Arkham Asylum for the first time ever, and yeah, I've been missing out.
The first that strikes me is, as a huge Batman The Animated Series fan, I'm delighted they got Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill in to do the voices of Batman and the Joker respectfully.
But more importantly the story driven gameplay is extremely engrossing thanks to a healthy balance of action, exploration, and creative puzzle solving. The controls are excellent and the locations are spectacular and detailed.
I couldn't stop playing this until the wee hours of the morning. I really love this game. Thoughts?

Arkham Asylum may not be my favorite game I've ever played, but technically speaking it's probably the best one I've ever played. It's perfectly balanced in terms of exploration, combat, and puzzle solving. And while I love Arkham City, I still feel like the smaller size of Asylum helped make the whole thing more focused.
