Video Game Movies?
Angelina Jolie was excellent casted in the first Tomb Raider movie as Lara Croft, but the movie itself was a mediocre Indiana Jones rip-off in my opinion. Haven't seen other Tomb Raider movies.

Video Game Movies?
So Tron the movie came out before the games? Really? I thought it was the other way around. I guess I assumed that because I played the games for years before actually seeing the movie. I don't know why, but all of a sudden Tron seems a little less cool. Well not really, maybe just a little.
Don't forget The Wizard (1989). It revealed Super Mario Bros. 3 & the uber awesome POWER GLOVE!

Re: Video Game Movies?
Reviving an old thread.
Not a video game movie on its face, but just watched 2016's "The Fifth Wave". Its in the line of Young Adult dystopian movies where attractive well groomed teenagers learn to be tough/survivors. In the latter part of the movie, there is a section where kids from like 8-18 are being trained and deployed as soldiers. They are given helmets with a heads up display, the guns have no kickback, hiding inside a bus protects you from bullets, etc. Those scenes reminded me heavily of a video game or a video game advertisement at least. It might even be part of a trilogy, so the whole plot together probably feels like a video game.
