Alright, I'm gonna do a little shameless self promotion on here.

Do you like videogames? Of course you do. Do you like the Universal Movie Monsters? Do you like horror movies? Do you like Halloween? Do you like Ecto Cooler and Count Chocula? If you said yes to any of these then please check out my Podcast that I'm doing with my good friend Josh.

As you've probably already guessed, this joint collaboration is lovingly titled, "The Wolfman's Lounge". Right now the concept is to discuss/review mostly geek/nerd culture topics that are near and dear to us. So far we've come up with a Podcast, a Facebook page, and we've got a website in the works that will hopefully be launched later this year.

I think based on what some of you have posted in the "Other Media" threads there will be some topics that you're interested in. Right now we're focusing on Halloween content, but that will change come November. Right now we've recorded 6 Podcast episodes and we've already posted the first 3. They cover the following topics - Favorite Horror Movie Endings, Childhood Halloween Memories and Friday the 13th Part III in more detail than it deserves. I think these are pretty entertaining and would love it if some of you checked them out! Be warned, these feature pretty explicit language, but have a fairly light and goofy tone overall.

Please check us out at the following locations:

Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/wolfmanslounge/

Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/user-136357118

iTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the ... 78777?mt=2

Also if you're interested in reviews of Horror Movies, Boardgames, RPG check out some articles we've done at http://fortressat.com/

Thanks for reading and please let me know what you think! We've got podcasts about horror videogames, werewolf films, and more in the can and ready to post soon! So we'll be adding new content all the time.

Good luck!

I am a big Universal (and Hammer - basically Universal Horror - the Next Generation) horror fan, having grown up in the age of television horror hosts like Svengoolie (mine was Dr. Paul Bearer). I also saw Friday the 13th part III in the theater ... in 3D! The pitchfork scene sticks in my mind to this day, and a few others like the girl in the hammock, but the pitchfork in 3D was shocking. The next year I saw Jaws III in 3D, and I've never been a fan of 3D since. What a sad sad story for the Jaws franchise, as Jaws is a horror blockbuster.

By the way, there is a Weird Al song called Nature Trail to Hell in 3D, which sounds very inspired by Friday the 13th franchise and part III in particular. It was recorded in late 1983, so the song's timing looking back on this movie is just about right too.

Its the film that made 'the hockey mask' a horror icon. Since the films were geared toward teens, the hockey mask works - however, it does cover up another very adult fear. Jason was born horribly deformed, wasn't he? That is another very adult fear, and one wonders if Pamela Vorhees may have harbored some theories on how evil sex was which may have been passed to Jason.

Looking back, my friends and I did not even think about seeing E.T. which was in the theaters at the same time. Cute alien on flying bicycle, or slasher film with maybe some bare flesh? Slasher film.

Thanks Scotland!

Me and my friend Josh love the Universal Movie Monsters and we're planning on doing an entire podcast to discuss/dissect the upcoming "Cinematic Universe" that Universal seems intent on delivering. We're also huge into Hammer and will probably figure out a way to work them into our plans.

Also, good call on that Weird Al track. I'd never heard that before and it's amazing! It sounds like a riff on Sleepaway Camp and Friday the 13th: Part 3.

After Halloween were going to be moving towards non-horror topics. I want to do a humorous bit where I critique old videogame box art. Also, at some point we're going to do a SNES vs Genesis podcast about how comparing the two is like apples and oranges...as both provided vastly different gameplay experiences. We're not just look at the typical stuff like SNES has Game A,B and, C while the Genesis has X, Y, and Z. We're hoping to dig a few layers deeper than that.

If we do something videogame related that I think is worth while I'll be sure to keep you guys in the loop. Since we're both retro gaming nuts we're bound to cover some stuff that y'all would appreciate.

Also, if anyone does listen to the podcast on here feel free to provide me with some feedback on what you think. Either comment in this thread or send me a private message. I'm opening to criticism. I think the last couple of podcasts that we've recorded are much better than our first ones.

OK last shameless plug for the podcast!

Our latest episode is all about horror themed videogames. We discuss favorites from our childhood along with more modern stuff. We only talk for about 30 mins and we could easily do a part 2 or 3 to discuss more...but still this was fun to do.

For any of you that have tuned in and listened I truly appreciate it!
