Apparently, OLM's remaking the 1st season of Pokemon as a feature length film for the series 20th anniversary. Nice, but they've changed some of the details...and replaced Brock and Misty with two new characters.

Actually, I like the old animation-style a bit more, tho that may just be nostalgia. No, strike that. I like clips of 50's/60's/70's/80's/90's anime on Youtube more than clips of modern anime too.

Why the heck are they getting rid of Brock and Misty? That is crazy... They were 2 of the original gym leaders as well...

I don't know. I assume they'll show up as gym leaders, if Ash goes to the gyms. The Electric Tale of Pikachu manga, which came out the same time as the anime and was loosely based on it, also made Brock and Misty side characters instead of Ash's traveling companions.

From what I've read the new movie will focus on Ash trying to find Ho-Oh, so it won't be a direct adaption of the 1st 2 seasons of the anime.

Summary of the movie. Sounds like they skipped the 1st 2 gyms, so no Brock or Misty.
