9/11

Postby pacman000 » September 11th, 2017, 1:08 pm

:( It's been 16 years...

Condolences to everyone who lost someone, to everyone who got sick later, and...words fail me, even now.

God Bless America.

We can very firmly put this in the political category. I'm not a mod, but come on, this CLEARLY violates the rules.

What the heck is "political" about remembering a national tragedy? 9/11 was wretched for everyone in the United States and countless others around the world. Few things have united political opponents like the grief of that day.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with the thread or the message that was posted. I know that the original post didn't come from a negative place and had the best of intentions. This is normally not the type of thread that we have on the site so there are going to be different opinions on the matter. No ones right or wrong on this.

Best wishes to everyone who lost someone whether it was during 9/11, a hurricane, or something else. Regardless of where we live we're all human and have been through our own struggles and most of us have experienced loss.

Please keep it civil.

That's all I'm going to say.

I had never the idea of referring to a certain event only by its calendar date, especially without its year. Events both good and bad had occurred on every calendar date; no calendar date (without a year) should be associated with a single event or even used to name the event itself.

Every new day should really be a new day. Let the eleventh day of September be an ordinary calendar date just like every other calendar date.
