The final battle against Ursula in The Little Mermaid didn't play out the way the director originally intended it to. Basically, he read The Call of Cthulhu and decided, at the last minute, to copy that into his movie. The original battle was never animated, but there are some storyboard sketches that give a good idea how it would go (with some freaking awesome piano music)

At the end of the 1950s, Velcro was the fashion equivalent of virtual reality. It was supposed to replace buttons, snaps, zippers, etc. It found its niche, but like the Segway, fell far short of its promise.
