Netflix Remaking Lost in Space!!?

Postby pacman000 » December 16th, 2017, 9:34 am

While browsing Wikipedia yesterday I noticed this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_in_S ... _TV_series)

I can't just trust Wikipedia, so I clicked on a link to Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/80104198

Apparently, they've been planning this for awhile: http://deadline.com/2014/10/lost-in-spa ... tv-848901/

I may need a Netflix subscription and a faster internet connection...

That's neat.

The original Lost in Space was kinda two different shows - the show it started out as and the show it quickly became. It started out as a straight forward heroic series, more like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, but quickly became the Doctor Smith / Will Robinson / and the Robot comedy hour.

Netflix actually has a really good template for this show in their own animated show, The Deep
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Deep_(2015_TV_series)

This is a sort of "Jonny Quest" show, that has a family of undersea adventurers, a lot like the Robinson Family. Its a good action series, with just a bit of humor from a fish that has dog like intelligence. Its really a kids show, but its watchable for adults.

I hope they target a family audience, like a toned down Star Wars, and nothing more mature than that.

I hope they make it hard core. For the fans for the original. Give Robbie a chainsaw and put the undead as one of the crew. How good could this be? We shall see.
