What gave you the idea that Mario would impregnate Pauline after her rescue? It should have been left out of the review, as many visitors to the site may find the idea disgusting and irrelevant.

Aside from that hindrance, I believe that while Donkey Kong for the NES is a good home version of the arcade versions, the version included with Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64 is much more faithful to the arcade versions, mainly the Japanese version.

Nintendo of Europe included the NES version of 4-stage Donkey Kong bundled with some Wii systems.  Retrousb put this version of the game on a reproduction NES cart.  It may be worth checking out.

And I hope you revisit the Atari XEGS version, it is my favorite official home port of game.

and for the reason why there are only 3 stages, dk was a launch game for the famicom in 1983.  so it couldve been an issue of cart space or development time.

Still no love for DK3 solely cause it's a shooter and not a platformer.  It isn't a HORRIBLE GAME!

I agree. I may be getting prudish in my old age, but I think the sexual references in a few of these new reviews are unnecessary and not very funny.

Luckyman,
I guess when writing seven Donkey Kong reviews it's tempting to incorporate humor whenever possible to keep things from getting too monotonous.  Sometimes the humor doesn't hit the mark.  I appreciate your honesty.  I never want my reviews to come off as raunchy.  You guys tend to keep me in check.

Eh, I am actually old (over 40 now), but I found them comical.  They don't go much further than I see on daytime television -- just enough to be funny, but not enough to be offensive.

I am not sure if you actually meant anything by the "hanging scrotums" comment, but regardless I laughed continually about that for a while after reading it.  I think it's the element of surprise that gets me... if I'm not expecting a comment like that, I find it funner than if I were.

I modified the review (Donkey Kong NES) to remove the "impregnate" part.
