Here are some interesting reviews for Atari 2600 games you may not have heard of before.  Breakanoid and Epic Adventure are two new homebrews.  Track and Field was provided to me by a kind reader.  All three of these are worthwhile.

Comments about the reviews (and games) are encouraged!

The special controller for Track and Field does look sweet.  Did you try using a pencil between your fingers to repeatedly tap the two buttons?  It always helped me on the arcade game (instead of slapping the buttons like a lunatic).

My friends and I used to walk to our local 7-11 before school that had arcade games.  The owner removed the Track and Field machine only after a couple of weeks due to the loud slapping of the buttons.....too many adult customers getting their morning coffee were complaining about the ruckus that game was causing.  Not to mention the poor lady who was working the register.

I don't recall the 2600 port having a high jump screen probably because I could never get past the hammer toss.  That is a tough event to conquer.  It would have been nice to be able to play or practice just one event (like Decathalon) but Track and Field is a good one.  Great review!!

P.S.  Does anyone know if the game originally came packaged with two special controllers?  The original box must have been the size of Indy 500 or Star Raiders with the extra controllers inside.

Was that Track and Field controller really rare?  A buddy of mine had it in elementary school.

Track and Field has always been one of my favorite arcade games.  My local pool had it in its small arcade, and the competition was pretty fierce.  People knew I was good at the hammer throw, so they would call me in from the pool to get them past that level.  Good times, haha.

Track & Field and Decathlon are quite playable with a trak-ball controller...easier to roll it left and right rapidly than punching buttons.
