I could tell Mean 18 was developed by Accolade, the swing meter on the left is exactly the same as their Jack Nicklaus Golf. Looks really good!

Plus, another mention of the Pain Line joysticks! Love that. Too bad we never got those pads.

Good to see a review for Mean 18, which you were raving about in another thread. It seems like it would be a lot of fun. Scramble looks pretty interesting as well.

you can buy brand new 7800 joypads here for 17 bucks

don't mind their 1994 website and lack of an online order form.  their service is quite good... you just have to email them.

I don't understand why Atari didn't release pad controllers in the US to compete with Nintendo. The Pro-Lines were already out of date in terms of design and of course painful to use.

In a thread talking about the Scramble review at Atariage Bob (the programmer on Scramble) mentioned that you can play Scramble with the 2600 controller.  It is selectable between one and two buttons.  Both bombs and shots fire at once when you choose one button, and then you can use the good ol' CX-40 controller.

Will Sega Genesis controllers work with Scramble?  If so, they might be a good alternative to the 7800's joystick.

I was wondering based on the opening line of the Mean 18 review, how hard to find is it and how much is it worth? I just saw a loose copy in my local mall game/toy store for $25. I would have thought nothing of it if not for this review. Personally i'm still more interested in getting the more unique Ninja Golf (even if Mean 18 is better), but i'd still give it a shot if $25 is a steal.
