This re-review ups the grade from C to C+.

I have been playing this because I'm reviewing its sister game, Winter Extreme on the SNES.  In the process I realized this Jaguar version is better than I gave it credit for.

This, Super Burnout, and Iron Soldier were the first games I ever played on a Jaguar.  I think it's a pretty decent skiing game, and the 'undulating hills' actually do seem to make you feel as if you are diving up and down rapidly.

I saw a video of it, it's... special. It's completely horizontal, Val d'Isère isn't shaped like that, I call bullcrap on that one ! 

About the Jaguar, I really question the grade on Rayman, not because it doesn't deserve a B+, but the Saturn/PS1 version has a C- in contrast. Is difficulty alone so much of a deal breaker that it makes the grade fall by almost two letters ?

I agree with the upgrade.  I've always thought it's a pretty decent game on the Jaguar.  Like Super Burnout, it really shows off the fact that the Jaguar was a sprite-pushing powerhouse (unfortunately in a time when the world wanted 3D games).  But I also agree with the criticism that the course is poorly defined at times....

This is definitely high on my list and I'm going to get it. It looks like a very good game. I'd been tripped up a little by some negative reviews but, considering I like the genre, I'm starting to think I could really like this game. This game, along with NBA Jam and Zero 5 (which I've always been fascinated by) are the highest on my list. Me and my friends are psyched about checking out those games, especially NBA Jam, where with the Pro Controllers and Team Tap seems like it could be awesome. But, I'm definitely getting this one.
