Let me know what you think of these Genesis reviews. Jungle Book is a review (went from C+ to B+) and the others are new.

Codemasters must've agreed with your opinion on the lack of 4 player multiplayer.



From Micro Machines 2 onward, they utilized their proprietary cartridge known as the J-Cart, which incorporated a pair of additional controller ports that allowed 4 person multiplayer without the need of any adapter.

That's crazy. I've never seen a Genesis game with controller ports built into the cartridge...

As for the reviews I thought you were a bit hard on the Genesis release. I don't think the game deserved worse than a B-... It's still a great game. I've seen Izzy in retailers quite a few times and have always kind of ignored it. Now I'm glad I did...

I never knew about that, but it certainly does back up my review!
Looks like I need to pick up MM2 now.

Pete Sampras Tennis and Sampras Tennis '96 are J-carts too. Do a Codemasters triple! BTW Sampras Tennis '96 is a PAL import but works on NTSC consoles.

D does seem harsh for Micro Machines despite it's lack of four player it is still a fun game.

Like Atariboy says try out the Codemasters J-Cart titles. I have Micro Machines 96 Turbo Tournament which I believe came after 2, there was also a military Micro Machines game as well but some of these titles might have only been released in Europe.

Yup my memory wasn't failing me. There were 4 Micro Machines games for Sega 16-bit but 2 were Europe only:

Pete Sampras Tennis was the only J-Cart released in the US. The other 2 Micro Machines games should work fine on an NTSC Genesis, just will play too fast.
