I actually continued playing this game on and off the two weeks or so following this review and ended up beating it. High score now stands at 72,900 in case any of you want to step up!

Infectiously fun review. The kind that makes me want to play it. Backlog = Backlog +1

I did not play it back in the 80s despite enjoying other martial arts games and movies of the day (anyone remember 'kill and kill again'?). It does sound fun. A Pixelated Prince of Persia with Punching popped to my pate on perusing your prose.

Bug or Feature...that could be a video game themed game show.

A fun review......and yes there is sometimes a slight lag when you get Mr. Lee off and running.

For me, playing Bruce Lee is a vivid reminder of my care-free days as a teenager. I bought my C-64 and 1541 in the summer of 1986 and spent countless hours playing it. Completing the game and getting to the CONGRATULATIONS screen (with Bruce jumping up and down) was very satisfying.....

I did not like the vulgar word used to describe a certain thing Bruce Lee had embodied being ten times greater than the one Chuck Norris had embodied and the vulgar word used to describe the Commodore 64 game based on Chuck Norris.

Follow up - now that I've beaten the game, I have to say the 'boss' at the end of the game has got to be one of the most disappointing in all of video game history. He looks cool as all get out, but he just sits at the top of the screen and spits what I assume are throwing stars down at you. All you have to do is run to the other side of the room and grab a lantern and you've beat him. Kind of anti-climatic, but none the less this was a fun game to review and it kept me going back until I beat it.
