It's not a great game, but the involvement of David Bowie might be enough to make some gamers check it out.
It's really not bad.

Ouch! Yet another of my favorite games of all time gets a low grade on the site. That said, in my defense (and the review's as well), I actually played the PC version, which is far less glitchy and even has some minor additions, like the ability to drive "sliders" manually (then again, the controls for doing so are a bit wonky.) At least I'm glad you appreciated the game's atmosphere as much as I did.

This game looks interesting. I tend to like games that have good atmosphere even if the game itself sucks.I might pick this up.. Thanks.

The storyline, the visuals and Bowie make this very interesting to me. I think I might like this a lot. Everyone has their own opinion. I think I'll check this out on Youtube first though.

This is one of those games that I've almost bought on a number of occasions and can't bring myself to pull the trigger on. You may want to note that this was the first game helmed by David Cage, a polarizing figure in the industry often criticized for his desire to make games more cinematic and less skill-based. He has also made Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.

Indeed it is, but he wasn't yet fully into that when he made it. The game is still somewhat "pretentious", if you will, but in other ways; in terms of gameplay it is quite traditional, with the novelty (at the time, of course) being the combination of adventure, FPS and fighting segments (admittedly leading to a "jack of all trades, master of none" problem). It's also a rare example of a 3D open world game made before the genre boomed with GTA III. Anyway, my point is, you won't find any QTEs in this game, I assure you!
