Have not played big mountain 2000, but was looking forward to your Mickey's speedway review.

I was playing it earlier, and posted about it here. Great review. As I can tell by the grade you gave it, I can see I'm not the only one who loves it. I even like it better than mario kart 64 and diddy kong racing! The characters have a lot of charm, and the length of the tracks only add to that charm. You can spin out if you hold a drift for too long, which is the only thing I don't like about the game. I heard the tracks get pretty hard later on.

I was just playing mickey's speedway USA for n64, and I'd have to say that it is one of my favorites. Love the short tracks, which add to the charm of playing in a game with disney characters. You'll spin out if you hold your drift too long, which is too bad, but it's not a problem if you are good enough at racing games.

When I discovered the site a while ago, I looked for a review and didn't see it, but I was glad to see it coming soon. I've been waiting for you to review this, and I like the review. I'm glad to see the grade, and that I'm not the only one who feels this way about the game. It truly is a hidden gem. I'd even go as far as to say that I like it better than mario kart 64 and diddy kong racing! that's just me. I like the gameplay better than mario kart 64 anyway, as it's a lot smoother. The gameplay was about the same as diddy for me.

I have passed on Mickey's Speedway several times at game shops. I will have to pick it up next time... I didn't think it'd be that good now I'm regretting it.

Surprised by the Big Mountain 2000 grade, most people I know hate it.

Will have to pickup Mickey's Speedway sometime in the future. Good review!

some fat cat named Pete

No respect, he gets no respect at all. Actually Pete is the oldest surviving Disney character, predating not just Mickey Mouse but even Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Despite often looking like a dog, he is supposed to be a cat, to better play Tom to Mickey's Jerry. He is even in Steamboat Willie, so the cat has a pedigree. Kids from the 1990s will know him from Goof Troop, and kids from today from the Mickey Mouse Club. In modern times, he really does look like a dog.

For Mickey's Speedway USA, I don't have this one. Sounds like fun. However, I wonder why they don't use Disney locations instead of Las Vegas, etc? Why not a track through Disneyland, CA, or Disneyland, Paris, or Epcot, or recreate Mr Toad's Wild Ride. Star Wars Pod Racers has a tatooine location, so why not Disney locations? Its fine to make use of the licensed characters, but why not go that extra kilometer?

For a while, I thought that the Mickey's Speedway game was the same as the Disney Racing Tour game I've got for the Dreamcast. Never been a big fan of that game (always preferred Looney Tunes Space Race), but now that I know they're different I'll keep my eye open for it.

Just finished unlocking most of the final tracks in mickey's speedway, and I definitely find it to be a hidden gem. I just love playing it, more so than mario kart or diddy kong racing! Speaking of Diddy kong, post people point to the fact that mickey's speedway usa was also made by rare, years after diddy kong, so they expected it to be better.

Most people look at the developer as a reason for not liking the game as much. I say take the game for what it is, an awesome kart racer.
