Critic: What's The Closest A Genesis Game Has Gotten To An A+?

Let's face it, we all (including Dave) probably wanted to see at least one A+ review on the Sega Genesis.

With that being said, Critic, has there ever been a game that's gotten so close to getting your A+ approval but just barely missed out for whatever reason? I'd have to say Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage are the closest.

Yeah, actually I'm surprised he doesn't have a single Genesis game at an A+... Never even noticed... My guess would be Sonic 2 but would like to hear from VGC on this.

I think the question may be answered with part 2 of my TOP 50 list, which will be posted by the end of this week!

It's funny the question "Retrology" brought up because the Neo Geo doesn't have any A+ games rated by the VGC either. I find it interesting, because they are very similar systems. They both have the 68k processor that enabled it to have really fast, manic, arcade minded game libraries. In that regard, maybe an A+ isn't that important. Maybe it's the hardware that's an A+. Because, a dynamite arcade experience is good enough. I think it says a lot about the quality of the VGC's reviews that he doesn't give a game an A+ that often and that a great system like the Genesis would not necessarily have one.

Imo, Streets of Rage 2 is A+ material.
