Its kinda amusing that searching for this game online found a real Maxwell Manor B&B in Virginia. Hah. Maybe they have the game set up in their common area.
I have a fondness for Avalon Hill, so I do see this game with some rose colored glasses. I use to play games like Squad Leader, Magic Realm, and other games that learning how to play is basically a college course.
If there was a unifying element in Avalon Hill games, it was complexity. This game seems to fit their style. I know they are still around, but once they were purchased by Hasbro and WoTC I cannot think of them as the same anymore.
Sorry you did not like the game. I recall playing a C64 version. I think there are things on the floor but they are difficult to see. You have inspired me to try and play it again. Maybe its in one of my horrinly unorganized collection of floppies still.
