My friends aren't crazy about Arctic Thunder, but I felt the need to bump it up to a C+ (from C), if only because I play it so much. Spikeout should have been a lot better. Your thoughts?

I didn't realize that Arctic Thunder was a successor to Hydro Thunder. I'll be buying this game thanks to your review.

I think I may have been the one to mention Spikeout in a thread about Streets of Rage. It sounds like it has some flaws, but overall is a fun experience.

I have to revisit arctic thunder, much like you did. I am a fan of arcade racers, after all. I was excited to get it, but it just felt hollow for some reason. It didn't feel like there was a ton of skill involved, and you just drive.

Avoid the PS2 version though if you want to enjoy multiplayer. The frame rate is awfully choppy.

Thanks. Fortunately I bought the Xbox version, even before seeing this. It came in a few days ago, but haven't tried it yet.

Man Critic, sometimes I prefer when the reviews are for awful games or systems I don't have. Now I'm wanting this game and Thunder Force III from your last set of reviews. It's easier on my wallet when you review Vectrex games. Haha
