Yep, this game is tailor-made for the Switch even though it's available on other systems and I'm definitely glad Puyo Puyo finally seems to be getting the attention it deserves in the States.

I actually disliked Fusion mode and Party mode due to both being overly slow and confusing, but otherwise this game really nails it when it comes to being an enjoyable multiplayer experience that anyone can pick up and play. The people who worked on 1-2-Switch could stand to learn a few things from this game.

Anyone planning on picking up Disgaea 5 Complete?

The score is too low. Puyo Puyo Tetris is the best thing to happen to the Tetris franchise in several generations. This is THE party game for the Switch at the moment. Give anyone a joycon, and since everyone knows how to play Tetris, it is crazy fun.

As your review states, the game has a ton of value. Single player mode is 'something', as is the endless modes and various characters let alone the Big Bang mode and such, but there is online play too. The local multiplayer, alone, makes this game an A. I consider Puyo Puyo Tetris to be an 'essential' Switch buy like Zelda and Mario Kart. How can you have a handheld without Tetris?

I also consider this game girl friendly / i.e. wife friendly. Girls will like this game! And you want girls to have local multiplayer fun at your place!

I guess you reviewed all the interesting Switch games now (for someone who don't like RPGs) until Super Mario Odyssey comes out... Or are you planning to get ARMS of Ultra Street Fighter II?

This game came out for Wii U but I was so angry they didn't bring it to America. When I pick up a Switch, this will be one of the first games I buy. Glad to see that it scored fairly well.

Could the Critic explain why he started using either expletives or implied expletives while reviewing video games for this site? The reason I asked is because I had been noticing them more often in some of his reviews from the past year and I cannot recall ever encountering any during my earliest visits to the site years earlier.

The expletives have been a trademark of the site from the very beginning. If anything, I've eased up on using them in the last few years. They are used as a point of emphasis to set the tone in my conversational style.

Anyone know what the red X's at the top of the screen do? I talking about in the game.

If the pieces get stacked up to those X's, you lose. That's all there is to them.
