Keep in mind these grades are relative to other games on the Lynx only.

I used to post an explanation on the site (games only graded against others for same system) but I may have removed it at some point. Any ideas where I could post it?

I'd post it on each of the main review pages, when you're looking down at the column of letter grades only.

And I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

For those burned by the arcade original: It's the rare port that was improved because of what they were forced to cut. Gone are the cheap stage 1 enemies who'd instantly club you to death if you looked at their hitbox funny, and in their place are more hockey masked steroid abusers. It should feel a billion times more repetitive, but it actually feels like you're facing an army, when you can't see the same face repeated over and over again. And unlike the cowards in Double Dragon, TMNT, and Streets of Rage, this army prefers to march right at you. It's impossible not to feel like an actual 80's ninja badass when your feet are teaching them how evolution works.

For those who've never played either one: Yeah, the AI is brain dead - you can easily beat it if you play it safe. This really isn't a good game. But don't you want to throw the enemies through the scenery? Just how many enemies can you kill at once with a single kick? And how cool can you look, if you master the art of useless flips?

If you enjoy challenging yourself, sometimes you'll be your own worst enemy.

It's all way more fun than it has any right to be.

I agree. Maybe right below "Select Range" on each main page.

The flip isn't useless: you can use Option 1 to throw an enemy (just like in the arcade).

This is false. Neither the flip or option 1 buttons let you throw an enemy. I just tried.

See here at 2:15: https://youtu.be/khK5RD5CFOc?t=131 He jumps and throws the Jason thug.

In the arcade version, there was a separate button for "grab" (weirdly, it was on top of the joystick on all the versions I have seen). If you jumped towards an enemy and pressed the grab button, you'd throw them. This throw is still in the Lynx version, which I found critical for effective crowd control.

According to this FAQ, https://www.gamefaqs.com/lynx/586969-ni ... faqs/61959 , the throw is jump+attack. I don't have my Lynx in front of me to verify. You can still use Option 1 as a Grab to hang from the street poles, etc.

Oh okay. I didn't try the jump+attack button combo.

As you guys recommended, I added this line to each index page:

Games are graded relative to all other games on the same system.
