Good review on Yooka Laylee critic, glad to see that you like this game, because a lot of people on the web simply do not like Yooka Laylee.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8Jzloqqe2s and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeU1bSsLerM and http://www.thejimquisition.com/yooka-laylee-review/ and https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/yooka- ... 0-6416649/. Glad to see someone honest review the game properly and unbiased. Also people like to hate on it because of the infamous controversy involving the game: http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2 ... oka-laylee and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG1oBrTYD6s.
In the near future if the Nintendo Switch version gets a physical version, you may want to consider reviewing it as it comes with the improvements from later patches baked in the port.: https://www.playtonicgames.com/huge-console-patch-now/
Anyway, related with Rare from the golden age, an excellent DF Retro on Donkey Kong Country + Killer Instinct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ7qtqqgTlo was made and it is awesome with great info behind the scenes as Donkey Kong Country was the SNES answer to Disney Aladdin for the Sega Genesis with unique graphics not commonly used at the time period for games. It also shows just how different Consoles, Arcades, Portables where when compared to each other as they had unique looks and feel for each other.

I felt the dirt games had run out of steam a few games back. I got part 3 on the 360 and it is just no fun at all. A bit like the modern forza games.
So how does it compare to something like need for speed rivals or Forza horizon?
The platformer looks good but I still have the rare collection to play.

With Dirt 1, I was disappointed that rally racing was downgraded from being the focus and with the experience simplified. But despite the limitations, I happily got all 1000 achievement points and had a great 20 hours or so with it.
Dirt 2 though, Codemasters went all-in on trying to appeal to people that normally wouldn't even consider a rally racer. Rally racing is de-emphasized to perhaps 15% of the game, and a lot of X-Games inspired events take the focus. Finished it, but this one didn't quite do it for me.
Dirt 3 was a return to Dirt 1 form in many ways. Still some X-Games stuff, but it's in the minority and challenging enough where it was actually fun as I hunted for all platinum medals. I had a very good time with this one.
After a disastrous spin-off that was all X-Games inspired junk which I ignored completely (Dirt Showdown), Dirt 4 is a return to the old Colin McRae Rally days and I loved it. Rally racing again is the dominant focus, just like the good old days.
It's a great game if you like true rally racers, with handling modes that appeal to both sim and arcade fans (Has optional simulator physics taken from 2016's spin-off Dirt Rally, along with the usual Dirt arcade physics).

Good to see that the critic has looked at DiRt 4 and Yooka-Laylee, I ain't much of a fan of DiRt myself.. I played the first three games along with a "knock off" called WRC on the vita and to tell everyone the truth rally racing games are really really boring.
Yooka-Laylee is a thrill to play, I have to say because It brings back those old Nintendo 64 days..That isn't what you'd find in most adventure games today and that despite the control issues the game is almost like a modern day Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo-Kazooie.
