The Genesis game is actually Space Harrier 2, the original Space Harrier was never released on natively on the Genesis only via 32x which is an awesome version.

It was designed for the C64; master C64 programmer Manfred Trenz designed and produced that original version completely by himself (apart from the music). Factor 5's Amiga port is excellent, though, and probably a better version of the game anyway. Same goes for the incredible Turrican II, which makes the original look downright underwhelming.

Ahh yes so it was. Wasn’t it this version that uses a soundtrack from the original Transformers movie ?
Im a Speccy guy but got to love that SID chip.
Still find it odd that Turrican is a poster child for the C64, Amiga and ST. The game reviews are generally glowing for all the home computers. But the console versions don’t seem to be held in such high regard.
