The two TV Sports titles are updates.  Takin' It To The Hoop is brand new.  Feel free to comment.

I had all three of these games back in the day.  I can't believe that at one time I actually enjoyed playing these.  Of course, that was before I got a Genesis and figured out that Turbografx sports games suck.

i have a tennis game, and it played like a tennis rpg, you had to walk around an overworld and had random encounters that resulted in miniature tennis matches. the gameplay seemed pretty on par with 8 and 16 bit tennis titles, but the goofy rpg element made the game fun in a silly way

LOL at "penis-packing cheerleaders".  All of the jokes about the Cathar (cat-woman) Juhani turning out to be a lesbian in Knights of the Old Republic weren't as good as that one.

As someone who really dislikes video sports games (I can't be the ONLY one raised wrong!), I was wondering if, in future, VGC, you could mix up the reviews with sports and non-sports reviews instead of reviewing a bunch of sports at once. I mean, we just had a bunch of PS2 sports (although micro machine racing is at least a bit different), now we have 3 TG16 sports! I HATE SPORTS! (unless they are those great O2 sports of course!...or PONG!)

Just a thought.

Critic, have you ever played TV Sports Football?  That is the worst Turbografx sports game of them all.  And considering the quality of those games, that is saying a lot.

Further evidence that NEC was way over its head when it tried to sell the TurboGrafx 16 in the States by passing sub-par software as bonafide sports videogames.  I mean, I can still pick an old 'Larry vs. Magic' or 'Michael Jordan' Genesis b-ball game and still have fun despite the dated graphics.  The sports games for the TurboGrafx-16 have got to be worst bunch of sports for a videogame console.  Even the Virtual Boy had decent sports games ('Golf,' 'Virtual Baseball' and 'Mario Tennis' were decent), what was NEC's excuse back in the day?

Critic, thanks for posting more Turbografx-16 reviews.  I appreciate them even if they're of really crappy games.  (or maybe more so)  Now, there are three less games for me to play.  Keep up the great work.
