Nice reads...I like the 2 or 3 reviews each week!

As for Metal Slug anthology I still can't decide how to play that. I would much prefer conventional controls but the PS2 version doesn't look like it is coming ut here, so I will have to with the Wii version. I am not a diehard Metal Slug fan though, so I suspect the Gamecube controller will be okay for me.
BTW the reviews don't seem to be showing up on the main page

Critic, do the other versions of "Metal Slug Anthology" (for PS2 and PSP) suffer from the same crippling control mechanisms as the Wii versions or are they entirely different (as in "better")? I had already made up my mind that when I get a Wii I'm picking "Excite Truck," and one look at the packaging of GT Pro Series (including the dorky screenshots) and I knew I'd never even think of renting it. Shame about the "MSA" compilation's bad control because I would have picked that up based on the series' reputation and low price.

GT Pro looks awful. Now, here's my problem with the Wii. Its more powerful than the gamecube right? Than how come all the Wii titles look like average Gamecube titles. I've seen much better looking games on the Gamecube. I know the Wii can't compete with quintuplet core behemoths like the Xbox360 or PS3 and I know its about the control scheme more than anything else, but still game developers are very lazy in this department and if quality looking Wii titles came out, The Wii would be unstoppable. However most titles continue to look worse than my PS2 games. As for sound, I'll always enjoy midi music.

However, I do think that sometimes people give a pass to simplistic games with killer graphics, and if that is considered fair, than we must also extend the courtesy to simple, fun games in which the graphics are simply "good."
Fight Night Round 3, for instance, removes a number of features that were previously in the series. But the graphics were incredible, so it was given largely positive reviews. So, in that light, an A grade for Excite Truck is quite defensible, though I don't agree with it.

With ExciteTruck, I assume you know that you can put your MP3 music files onto an SD card and use them in-game. Is that worth mentioning in the review to you (especially since you don't love the music they give you)?
With GT, how's it not terrible? You tend to tear D- games apart. I'm only guessing it's becuase you've played something even worse on Wii (Far Cry: Vengence anyone?).
And with Metal Slug, which of the five control schemes was the playable one? And just out of curiosity, do you (like me) hate using the Gamecube controller to play 2D games? It just isn't suited well to them.
Oh and one more thing; I must contest your "few software companies are as adept at mishandling their flagship franchises as SNK" line, as you must forget how Sega's butchered their series' recently (Virtua Quest, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic the Hedgehog PS3/360 anyone?).

[QUOTE=The Video Game Critic]Please chime in on these new reviews!

I completely agree with the Excite Truck review. I probably agree more than disagree with the GT Pro review. I would have given it an F probably. It did come with the wheel attachment which I use from time to time on Excite Truck.
