These three are updates, but more are on the way.

the one thing I dont like about the dreamcast version of Mars Matrix is the mapping of the piercing cannon to a seperate button. In the arcade you only had ONE button: press it rapidly for the normal rapid-fire shot, tap the button for the piercing cannon, and hold it down for the shield. I understand why they allow you to map it, but it does take away from the strategy/difficulty

Great to see these games get bumped up, they are great examples of a wonderful genre.

speaking of Dreamcast Shooters, critic should pick up Last Hope, it was originally a Neo Geo homebrew that was ported to Dreamcast. it is more traditional and plays like R-Type

I don't know how you previously reviewed these, but I agree 100% with these three reviews in their current form & grade.
I also prefer Giga Wing, the original, to GW2. Both a great shooters though. Mars Matrix is the strategist's dream. You don't really understand *how* it was intended to be played until you unlock the level 1 strategy video and see the insane combos that you can get.
It has been at least 2 or 3 years since I've played any of these.

Crtic- one thing that I think does not come across clearly in the MM review: the gold cubes that emerge from downed enemies give you experience points that are used to level up your main cannon, not just bonus points. This is a cool radiant silvergun-style feature that I wish was incorporated in more shooters.

Oh just WAIT until the review for Last Hope finally gets posted that someone else was asking for!! I have a 'sneaking' suspicion you'll be very happy with that review if Dave's reviews of bad games are your thing :-)

^^as well as the fact that the idea is to combo the golden cubes, not just collect them
