alright, a 2600 game review!  this game sounds awesome, and i'm going to have to track down a copy.  by the way, great review dave.  your writing since 2000 has really, really progressed.  your earlier reviews were great, but you said more in one paragraph in this review than those pinheads at ign.com say in 5 pages.  keep up the excellent work.

I really appreciate that you support the homebrew stuff for older systems. Most people have no idea what to make of new games for a 30 year old gaming platform, so they provide a great service.

The game sounds terrific. It makes me want to get a 2600, in fact (all I have is the Atari Flashback 2.0).

Nice review. our enthusiasm for the Christmans theme does sound a little out of place in October though

I love this game.  I got mine free when I ordered last years amazing Atarivox bundle.  I remember working out the way the Atariage holiday pricing worked there, and it worked out that they paid me $10 to take the Atarivox.

Great review Dave, I think you hit on everything.  I was surprised that a homebrew for the 2600 could be that original and fun to play.  We'll have to give it some more work once we get past Halloween!

Well Sears Telegames, it's a tradition at Atariage that during xmas, you can get a LIMITED EDITION xmas-themed homebrew for a very limited time, for free, if you buy enough homebrew stuff during that period.

I'm afraid that "Toyshop Trouble" was only available for a limited time last xmas.

HOWEVER, sometimes Atariage offers pervious year's limited edition xmas carts the next xmas. So if you hope to score this game, it'll be come next xmas. Of course, they'll have a NEW limited edtion xmas themed cart to get.

Christmas really is the best time for Atariage homebrews, there's always a big debut of new stuff, plus the free limited edition xmas game.

I probly hold the record for the biggest 2600 homebrew collection on this site, I own nearly 30.

A reader since 2000??  Wow that's impressive!

To be honest, I cringe at many of my older reviews, and am methodically updating them behind the scenes (currently working through the SNES section).  I think the review quality on this site is uneven, but I'm fixing that.

your newer reviews are much more polished and refined, and your sentence structure is more complex.  and your reviews are longer.

however, your earlier reviews of bad games were really sharp and a total hoot.  in one review from 2001, your last sentence read, "Man, does this suck."  i really found this funny because i wasn't expecting it.
