Are these reviews right or wrong?  You be the judge.

Well, you're right about Wii Sports Resort, particularly how disappointing it is that the Golf hasn't been improved much over the original version in Wii Sports.

As far as Grand Slam Tennis, I haven't played it, but you might want to hold off saying that "no one but Nintendo can make motion control work," because Nintendo fouled them up pretty horribly in their own Wii tennis game, the New Play Control version of Mario Power Tennis.  Listen, this game was bad on the Gamecube, but at least it was playable there; you can't say the same about the Wii one.

Nice Reviews...

First of all to Michael D - NPC Mario Tennis does NOT use Motion plus - so that is a non starter - there is a rumour Nintendo dumped tennis out of Sports Resort to make way for SEGA M+ Tennis and this EA title...I still like Wii Sports Tennis, though...!

The Wii Sports+ Review is kind of like 12 one sentence reviews, lol, but what can you do? Anyway, always interesting to see what games click with different people, myself I could not get into the frisbee at all. DId you play the single player varient on Sword Play? My favorite game of the bunch, it is quite challenging in the later levels, very intense! Just to let you know Table Tennis has a varient, a faster 11 point game with less spin control, I think you hold down '1' when you are selcting the game to pick it. You might enjoy that, variety, check gamefaqs for the code, I cannot remember offhand...this game is a good canidate for the Videogame Mania or whatever....

My last comment is Skate sounds pretty bad, just a FYI Wii Fit Plus has a balance board skateboarding activity that should be interesting and the game is going to be $20...

Nice reads!

When Tony Hawk's "Ride" game comes out with the skateboard peripheral, nobody is going to give a crap about what the Wii Balance Board does or may do for future skateboard games.

On a related note, the good news is that Nintendo may finally be dropping the price of the console down to $199 within the next few weeks. The bad news is that I still haven't seen many worthwhile games for the system that make me want to pick one up.

So - there is no 'good news'!

I for one am way more excited about Wii Fit + then 'Ride'..... The balance board is probably best enjoyed in short bursts anyway - plus you get variety. Same way I just play Wii Sports Resort golf instead of buying Tiger - it has endless replay anyhow.

I did not like the controls at first, but once you learn them they are better then the first game - you can push 'b' at any time to reset the controller to zero and have any arm angle you would like - very smooth and accomodating. Great game of golf.

Have to disagree with you on Wii Sports Resort - Cycling.  My kids LOVE this event.  I like it a lot too.  We play two players, so that means riding tandem.  The real key to cycling is not to pedal continuously, but to do it in short bursts -- resting in between.  That way you get all the "speed boosts", but your arms never get that tired.

I think Nintendo REALLY has a good thing going with the Wuhu Island concept.  Think of where they could go with this....  Imagine that you want to go bowling -- however instead of selecting bowling from a menu like you do now, you could hop in a car and drive to the bowling alley.  Image that you want to go golfing -- you could rent a boat and drive to one outlying islands that has a golf course (or rent an airplane?).  Want to go flying -- drive to the airfield.  Feeling tired -- drive/walk to the hotel.  Want to explore -- go shopping -- or better, hiking.  You could also go fishing, snorkeling, etc.  Nintendo can really run with this island concept, if you ask me!!!  Guess we'll see if they decide to capitalize on it or not....

I probably should clarify my comment about the Wii version of Mario Power Tennis.  What I was saying was that the game was an example of Nintendo horribly fouling up the Wii motion controls, regardless of whether they were using the Wii Motion Plus accessory.  And actually, the bad Wii controls in Mario Power Tennis are not a non-issue, because after 3 years of working with their system and with their past experience nailing the tennis in Wii Sports, Nintendo should be more than able to handle taking a poorly selling Gamecube game from half a decade ago, shoehorning in Wii controls and actually making the game playable with them; the lack of Wii Motion Plus is not an excuse.

But then your quote no longer makes senses in reference to the Critic's review - he was writing specifically about Wii Motion Plus.... This is not review feedback for New Play Control Anything.

That's true, but he said that "it must be really, really hard to program motion controls," not only Wii Motion Plus motion controls.

Thanks for the review of Wii Sports Resort. I was really debating weather or not I should get it.

I guess I'll have it next pay day
