[QUOTE=Sudz]I can't imagine trying to play that with the Wiimote as a motion-based controller, whether it's stuck in that ludicrous plastic ring they laughingly call a 'peripheral' or otherwise. If you're forced to play this on the Wii, your best bet (as is pretty much always the case with a Wii game) is to use it as a 'classic' controller. But if you at all have the option, you'll want to get the 360 version.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I'll keep playing Wii remote only. Seems to work fine for me. But, yeah, I think we all realize that lots of people don't like playing that way.

BTW Dave, congratulations on this game being your 3,500th review - you couldn't have picked a better game for it.
As a heads up, this past week the game was on sale for the PC via Steam for only $14.99. The sale is over now (although it's still roughly half the price of the console versions at $29.99), but I find that usually once Steam has a fire-sale on a game like this (very soon after a game is released), they tend to have it again within a few weeks. If you're at all interested, just check in with Steam once per week during the week and once again over the weekends, and I think you'll find it back on sale again pretty soon.

I would love to see your list of Wii games that are (pretty much always the case) best to use the Classic Controller.
Thanks, steer.
And no one is 'forced' to play Sonic anywhere.

Sure thing! The easiest way to access this list is:
1) look on the lefthand side of this webpage
2) Click at the bottom sidebar where it says "Wii"
3) With the exception of "Boom Blox" and "Carnival Games", there's my list ;-)
Hahahahaha!

Lol, who knew the best motion games on Wii were Carnival games and Boom Blox? That makes your statement all the more credible.
Good try Sudz, I am not sure the Critic will post this cause you are his friend and we have diffr'nt strokes for diff'rnt folks here!
Why post counter arguments? Just agree with the Critics friends, you'll do fine! Classic Controller PRO for the win!

Hey, I get it, you're in love with all things Nintendo - I wish I could find a product I could get that excited about. But even you have to admit that the Wiimote is a less-than-perfect technology out of the box and gives the player imprecise control. Right? Why do you try to deny this? For crying out loud, even Nintendo basically admitted as much - by releasing the Wii Motion Plus. If their first controller was so dead-on, why the need for a follow up? You can continue to argue the sky isn't blue all you want, but that doesn't make it so.
I'm sure if the Critic removes some of your posts it has nothing to do with arguing with his friends... it just get tiresome having you pitch a fit every time someone says something even slightly critical of Nintendo. And for the record, I think Carnival Games is a pretty lame game - it's just one of the only ones I can think of that I would prefer to play with the motion-based controls. I do think Boom Blox is one of the best games on any of the current-gen consoles, so whether you think that makes me 'credible' or not take it for what it's worth.

Recently plopped this back into my 360 when I had to wait about ten minutes for my wife to get ready. And let me tell you, I ended up playing it a lot longer than that! What a great game this is, with traditional vibrant Sega graphics, and the upbeat music.
I forgot what a blast I had with this.
