These three Atari 2600 are revised versions of old reviews.  As usual, I kept the best stuff and added a lot more color.  Comments are encouraged.

Keystone Kapers is probably one of my favorite all time Atari 2600 games.  My sister and I used to play "cops and robbers" (thats what we called Keystone Kapers when we were about 4) for hours on end.  Glad to hear that its endured the test of time!

What I love about your reviews is the stories about how you got the games, where you got them, and HOW MUCH THEY WERE. I used an online inflation calculator, and that $36 you plunked down for Phoenix was roughly $78 today (!) Funny how I saw it at Toys R Us in 1987 for $9.99!

Circus Atari was frantic and fun. I couldn't last long, but its still a great game in my collection.

Keystone Kapers was done by one of the Kitchen brothers (they also did Crackpots and Pressure Cooker for Activision) and the graphic quality and attention to detail is nothing short of amazing nearly 30 years later.

My encounter with Phoenix was backwards; played the 2600 game then found the arcade game years later. BIG difference.

Funny.  I always assumed that Keystone Kapers was already reviewed... how could it not be?

It's one of my favorites for the system, and continues to get regular play.  Keystone Kapers, like alot of the top class games of Activision, can be had for a dollar or two.  Given the price of Atari's at Goodwill and other places, anyone could have a working system with this game for under $10.  Soooo worth it.

$78?! nah... that's too high an estimation, even for back in '83. $36
cost equivilent... would more like a $55 dollar range as of today, ya think?
Now if it was $49 or $59 dollar game back then, I could see it being like spending $78 now.

Really nailed the Circus Atari review.

B- seems a perfect grade to me. The graphics could have been a bit better, and the paddle always seems to move a little too fast for it's own good.

Here's one mo person sayin Keystone Kapers was/is the shiznit.

Do the clowns really splatter when they fall? That sounds too good to be true & worth gettin fo that reason alone.

They do.

I think it's a reused effect from that cruddy Human Cannonball game, but don't quote me on that.
