Best Music in a game icon

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has an amazing soundtrack, even considering
the insanely high standards of the previous Castlevania games:

At least one of the Silent Hill games should get this icon. Even if you can't
hum a lot of the music, the sort of dark ambient/industrial music that Silent
Hill 2 uses goes a long way towards creating the atmosphere that the game
thrives on.

If you ever review it, Hotline Miami absolutely deserves this icon (so hard to
pick just one track, though):

Got a big list: Hellfire. Megaman 2 & 3. Any Castlevania. Metroid.  Batman NES. Any 2d Sonic, probably the original is best. Journey to Silius. Banjo Kazooie. Diddy Kong Racing. Nights into Dreams. Street Fighter 2 has to make the list.

For new games: God of War. Halo. And Smash Bros Brawl is like Nintendos greatest hits.

Lots of great suggestions. Just trying not to repeat anything.

All for the NES:

- Double Dragon (this one most of all)
- TMNT
- Adventures of Bayou Billy (crappy game, awesome soundtrack)
- Ninja Gaiden

Another game you've never reviewed that has an awesome soundtrack
is Super Meat Boy (XBLA/PSN)

Pretty much every Castlevania was recommended on here except the one that had the best music.

Castlevania II "Simon's Quest" had an amazing soundtrack. People forget that sometimes because the game play wasn't as good. But the music was fantastic.

as a musician, I would say as an idea for the icon keep it simple but effective so to speak, a music note maybe or a lil electric guitar!

shouldn't this be described as "Excellent Music" or "High Quality Music" instead of "Best Music"? That sounds a little too specific due to the best often meaning just 1.

Most Sonic games (the original three, but also the-not-so-good-newer-ones) have excellent music. However, the one game I think that REALLY deserves this icon is Streets of Rage 2. It has the best video game music ever. Period.

Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VI, and Valkyrie Profile. Three great composers at the height of their careers.
