DMC devil may cry definetive edition coming

Postby Ozzybear1 » February 10th, 2015, 4:58 pm

I missed out on the original series. So i got the Hd collection
for ps3 when it came out, and honestly, i didnt like it at all
(coming from someone that loves hack n slash games that
says a lot ).

But then when the reboot came out i looked
over it because of not liking the originals.

But I got it at an extremely reasonable price used and have to say its a great
game and was just out today and picked up far cry 4 and
dying light , and seen that there is Definetive edition coming
out next month of the reboot for ps4, and xbox one, so I'm
really looking forward to adding this to my ps4 collection and
enjoying some more hack n slash fun!

anyone else out there seen this and looking forward to checking it out?
Drop me your thoughts and opinions as its always great to see
what others think that enjoy these sorts of games, ty
Ozzy

Hey Ozzy! I'm right there with you, friend. I'm a pretty big fan of the original DMC and bought the HD collection for PS3 day one. I wasn't playing games much during the 6th gen, but my little brother had a PS2 and I think I played through the campaign for the first Devil May Cry 10 times. The third game is great a well. Interestingly enough, I didn't care for the second or fourth games, but I am interested in giving the 4th game a second chance when it comes out on PS4. It's getting a definitive edition, too, if you weren't aware. But DMC (the fifth game) is absolutely great. I might like it even more than the first game! I was waiting for a price drop when it ended up being free for Plus users on PS3. I played through it and loved it. Sure I could have gone without the language and the not so subtle slamming of conservatives, but that's ok. Lol. I'm looking forward to actually owning the game and playing through it again in its best form. Hyped!!

@ptdebate -- even as I was writing that, I was wondering if you'd make a comment to that effect!  [tongue]

@Ozzy - I hear you, brother.  You got me thinking about this game.  In 3D hack and slash games, the combat is the most important thing for me and I think DMC has a better combat engine than all of its 7th generation peers.  Bayonetta, God of War III, God of War Ascension, Devil May Cry 4, Ninja Gaiden/Sigma series, Darksiders... DMC bests them all in combat.

Hahaha [biggrin]

In all seriousness though, DmC is a really awesome game. I have no idea what people were complaining about with the changes--the new Dante is actually more likable than the old one.

I had to keep myself from buying DMC this week. I've already played the entire game (sans Vergil DLC) so I should just exhibit some self control and wait for a price drop. I'll have to do the same thing for darksiders 2, DMC 4, and Ultra Street Fighter IV. But man, I really want to see what DMC looks like at 60 FPS. That combat engine is SO good and I hear they tweaked it, too.
