Nintendo loves scalpers.

I wanted to get the new Fire Emblem Special edition. Preorders sold out within hours months before the game was released. It retails at $80. It is being sold for $200 on eBay now. The game is less then a few days old. Their last Fire Emblem sold well so the demand shouldn't be a surprise. They've had a couple months since the preorders sold out to print more or at least announce that more will be produced. They have done neither. They must love scalpers as some ebay sellers have sold 50+ copies of the game at $200 and people like myself can't even get one copy at retail price.

I must be mistaken in my assumptions about Pikmin 3 then. I thought it sold so poorly that they quit production of it early and so prices immediately skyrocketed, which is why I have been anxiously awaiting some sucker to sell it for really cheap on Craigslist. Maybe it did better than I thought...

It increased recently due to the discovery that you can use an exploit to install homebrew software. Hopefully Nintendo releases an update and bricks the systems of those who use the exploit.

My local game stops has a full lineup of 3ds Zelda games. In big box stores, however, I only saw link between worlds on the shelf for like a week. Haven't seen it since.

Because Nintendo region-locking the 3ds is so great and makes so much sense? Hopefully your system breaks for wishing others's brick. Don't worry what other people do with their property. Worry bout your own.

This game should've never been expensive to begin with. It wasn't pricey for me. Had a Canadien copy and sold it. Ocarina can be boring, not worth havin around. Playing through that twice is enough for one lifetime. Greatest game ever, my ass.

Nintendo scalpers ripping off the Nintentards. It won't change until these shelf collectors and blind fanboys stop paying dumb prices.

For a long time, content creators fought piracy on many levels, but publicly never spoke of their own role. If you create a product, you have every right to get what you can for it, however, the tighter you squeeze, the more you will encourage the rebellion.

What? Nintendo wasn't the one selling the game for high prices. $39.99. The greedy lowlife scalpers and resellers were the ones fetching high prices. Looks like it's coming back to bite them in the behind. Good.

Nintendo doesn't understand supply and demand. It makes no sense that their product can be resold for 2.5x what they initially charged minutes within the sale was made.

The only possibility I can see is that Nintendo wants those that can't get the special edition to download the additional content. That way they can make money with no physical product to produce and distribute. The flaw with that logic is that this is by far not the only time they've undersold themselves. Fire Emblem on the Gamecube goes for $120 as of right now. They could easily whip up a few thousand copies and sell them on the Wii U or even the Gamecube itself for $60 a pop. That's half of what it sells for now. There is money to be made for nintendo. They just don't get it.

Hey thanks for the heads up on Nintendo pushing out this new greatest hits lineup. Really glad to see them re-releasing Pikmin 3 and others at affordable prices!

(Secretary at Nintendo hands a memo to the president of Nintendo in the middle of a huge quarterly meeting) "Hang on, gentlemen. Someone calling himself "Tron" says he wants to explain something called "supply and demand" to us. We'll I don't know what this "supply and demand" is, but WE sure as hell don't need it!! Now, lets get back to the issue of whether or not it might be considered excessive to print 50 million copies of our new "Zack and Wiki" sequel on the Wii U... "
