Left Turn Only Productions, publishers of the modern hit Intellivision® game, Christmas Carol vs. The Ghost Of Christmas Presents, and the AtariAge Intellivision® High Score Club present their second annual Carol vs. The World! Championship.

Play the game Christmas Carol vs. The Ghost Of Christmas Presents and help Carol Greenleaf save Christmas from the Evil Snowman. Rise to the top of the ranks of Santa's Elite Elf Squad and submit your top score to the judges. The person with the highest score received by the deadline of December 31st, 2013, wins a very special gift from Santa Claus himself!

After the fantastic success of the high-score competition following the game's release in 2012, we have decided to turn it into an annual event. This year, the prizes include not only a specially designed custom edition of the game, but also commemorative merit badges and a first for any game competition: personalized mugs with hot-cocoa mix—a propos to a Christmas challenge during winter time!

Everyone's A Winner
The prizes will be awarded at various difficulty ranks, so everyone gets a chance to win, regardless of their skill level. Plus, all scores submitted will be published on the official leaderboard of the Carol vs. Ghost web site, so even if you're not in the highest rank, you still get to brag about your score.

Achievements!
And that's not all... This year we introduced a twist: game achievements! These are small challenges that track your progress throughout the game. They serve as an additional personal challenge or to provide extra bragging rights.

A Present Under Every Tree
As if bragging rights and great prizes were not enough, Santa has decided to give away the game to everyone! That's right, Christmas Carol vs. The Ghost Of Christmas Presents is now available in ROM format as a free download.

So head on now to the official Carol vs. The World! Championship web site to get your game ROM and for more information on the competition: http://www.CarolVsGhost.com/cvw2013

Spread the joy. Spread the word.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

While I am not participating in this challenge I just want to comment on how amazing this game is!  I bought my cart late in the fall of 2012 and was astonished at how fun and addicting it was.  The intermissions between the different screens are a treat as well.   It is great how these homebrews breathe new life into our Intellivisions.  I am looking forward to the Christmas Carol sequel due out next year.

It's the Eve of Christmas Eve (if that is, indeed, a thing), and our champions have shown some exceptionally good progress.

We have Grand Master Elf Liduario with a fantastically high-score of 17,723, showing his highest reached level to be #190. To those who follow the game, this will seem almost impossible in a game that grants you 1 point per candy and 5 points per present. It also means that he has rolled over the color-coded 4-digit score display to YELLOW, and is well on his way to rolling it over again!

Next on the leaderboard, at what is evidently a very distant second place--but indeed is an amazing ranking score--is Fushek. With 8,554 and having reached level #80, Fushek is no measly player, but a Grand Master Elf himself!

Moreover, Liduario and Fushek have earned 26 and 23 achievements, respectively. This is out of a total of 29 achievements, some of which are reserved for glorious and legendary champions like themselves. Liduario even earned the coveted Twelve Days Of Christmas Carol achievement.

The competition is heating up, but the banter is still friendly and joyous! Don't forget to visit the official leaderboard and marvel at the champions achievements. Remember, you too can share in the glory.

Come join us for a little Holiday Merryment. No purchase or registration necessary, just some Christmas Spirit. Play the game, snap a picture of your score, and send it via e-mail or post it in here or anywhere accessible to the judges. It's as easy as that!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!
