It's not exclusive to the Wii U, it's also going to be on the 3DS.

Now THIS looks awesome! I was skeptical before seeing the trailer because I assumed it was a Mario Galaxy ripoff, but then I realized Sonic 1 was Mario Bros. with more speed, and now I'm excited!!!!

I also agree that Sonic has been getting revived in the early 2010's. Sonic Colors is awesome and I love Generations as well. This looks like it will blow those out of the water as long as the controls are great! Keep this up, Sega!

Also I must be the only one that thinks this looks kind of like Sonic Xtreme 17 YEARS LATER!!!!!

I thought of Sonic X-Treme as well when I saw this, I wonder if this game will incorporate some elements originally intended for it, now that would be cool.

I just checked out the link that Segatarious linked to, and I am extremely hyped! Sonic Lost World (SLW) gets so many things right, I can't even begin to describe it!

First of all, the game plays like Sonic Adventure in certain areas. Although the game is a tad more linear than Sonic Adventure, it still has hidden power-ups and all that good stuff that a speed-runner may pass up! I saw in a gameplay video that the Flame Shield is back! Awesome! That was one of the best aspects of Sonic 3! From having watched past videos, I feared that speed would be heavily compromised in favor of blocky platforming, but now I'm assured that Sonic's trademark speed is still present, even in the 2D segments. The parkour system does a great job of preventing sudden stops from tarnishing the gameplay! I also appreciate that the music that plays when Sonic has the speed shoes is the Sonic Heroes theme. I know that sounds like a small thing to appreciate, but I love the rock and roll soundtracks in the modern Sonic games, and I'm glad the Sonic Team isn't ditching them! Speaking of soundtracks, I love the orchestrated soundtrack of SLW; it reminds me of Sonic Unleashed's soundtrack! Also, I'm glad that the 3DS version of SLW isn't going to be some half-hearted effort like some portable ports of console games are!

I was already hyped about Pokemon X and Y and Zelda: A Link to the Past 2 this year, and now I have Sonic Lost World to be hyped about! This is going to be a great year for the Nintendo 3DS! I actually felt somewhat bored of Sonic games recently, because I've played the living heck out of the series the past few years (I grew up with Nintendo systems, so I had some catching up to do ), but my interest has now been completely renewed!

The Galaxy-esque worlds do seem to fit the series perfectly. The worlds look amazing in how they flow.

I am now trying to decide 3DS or WiiU for this game? E3 is so fun for plotting out your game buys for the year... I will be waiting for Black Friday deals on games this year, as competitive as this Christmas will be, I bet we see a lot of them, for all systems.....

Also I am very hyped to see the new 3D Mario now. This could be an amazing year for platformers, again.

Even if this plays like Super Mario Galaxy with Sonic's own style oozed all over this I can't imagine this game being anywhere below awesome if Sega manages to get the controls and camera angles right. I really hope this is an awesome game because it sure as heck looks awesome.
