The biggest problem I have with the Chicks Dig This icon is that it seems more like a The Critic's Wife Digs this icon. If I were to create a site with a Chicks Dig This icon then I would be putting it on Uncharted, Halo, Rock Band and Sonic the Hedgehog, based on what my wife likes. I don't find the icon offensive; I just don't find it helpful and it seems based on personal experience not statistical data. Not that I expect you to do market research, just that your other icons are less subjective.

Instead, anyone who comes here to be offended on behalf of someone else should be banned.

Anyone who uses "it's the current year" type argument when relating to the subject is just a SJW using the Marxist "wrong side of history" argument of permanent revolution to bring poison and destruction to existing culture.

Females are not a majority of gamers, they are a tiny fraction. All surveys that try to show that result use responses showing they play time waster games on their smartphones lumped in with other games to fudge the numbers. Dave's icons indicating female interest is perfectly appropriate to these types of games, puzzle games, and the like.

Is this post harsh? Maybe, but that's how you have to respond to SJWs, you cannot give them an inch for any reason. They are the demoralized useful idiots that are marching through our culture laying waste to civilization, and particularly seek to disrupt any interest that caters to males.

If this site offends you, go back to reddit or the comment section of kotaku or polygon where you can bask in your safe space.

Ahhh, it's the critics site, he can do as he pleases. He doesn't have to appease any companies, so everything he does is for his own pleasure. I seriously doubt he would lose a single reader over this non-issue.

Whatever else happens, please can we not start using "SJW" around here. I started seeing this a lot during Gamersgate (and was usually arguing against the people labeled SJWs as I think they often over-simplified their opponents). It's not a very useful term as it also oversimplifies dissenting opinions. It reminds me of when you read a story on a news site, and every disagreement in the comments devolves into "well you're a conservative/liberal, so just shut up whining!" (This is my opinion as a person by the way, not as a moderator, just so we're clear I'm not disapproving posts with that word or anything).

It figures. It is just some whiny panty waist liberals complaining about something because they can. Please don't give in to liberal bias. They talk a pretty good game about being open minded but in reality they are the biggest hypocrites.

I appreciate GentleGamer taking a stand on this.

The problem with political correctness is that truth is the biggest casualty. The Internet stifles conversation because if people have a view others don't want to hear, they are ostracized and called a bigot. That's why the comments on sites like Slashdot and Ars Technica are so one-sided. Dissenting opinions get voted down.

For the record no woman has ever complained to me about the site.

I have no problem with the "Chicks Dig This" icon. It's just your observation.

The "May Contain Hotties" icon seems a bit sensual.

You should have a door icon to for any butthurt whiners out there. They don't like it, there's the door! It's your dang site, you do as you please.

How did this comment make it through? Politics have no place here or it just becomes a shouting match.
