The Video Game Critic

Just goofing around with an idea... What would you think the cast should be if some zealous programmer decided to make an Atari themed Super Smash Brawling game... or a go kart game, etc. So basically, who are the Atari All Stars? Looking for characters from games... not just seminal games titles.


Here's my stab at some:


Adventurer (Adventure- 2600)
Bentley Bear (Crystal Castles- 2600)
Grandpa Munster (Midnight Mutants- 7800)
Ninja Golfer (Ninja Golf- 7800)
Scraps (Scrapyard Dog- 7800, Lynx)
Slash (Basketbrawl- 7800, Lynx)


Any other thoughts?

Most definitely the dude with the funky helmet on the cover of Missile Command. I have no idea his name, but with a helmet like that he should be included.

Pitfall Harry, Frogger, that guy from Swordquest? Wizard of Wor?

Pitfall Harry, The Wor Gang, and Frogger are not Atari, but Activision, Midway and Konami - do they still count?

If we count those, can we count the flying dinosaurs from Demon Attack? The Prince from Krull?

Maybe E.T. could be an unlockable joke character, like Dan Hibiki.

How about Yar and the Gunfighter from Outlaw?

Or all the people on box art, like the girl from Defender, the Knight from Warlords, and the pompous king from Video Checkers?

Yar- yars revenge, Dirty Larry, the keystone caper cop, one of the joust characters, kangaroo, Todd from slimeworld, chip from chips challenge, Custer from clusters revenge lol, the bear from crystal castles ( just went off the top of my head with these )... Ozzy

Atari already made a kart racer using their characters.

Remember Atari Karts fir the Jaguar. Yeah most people don't. The game stunk and really highlighted how the Atari characters lacked any um... character.
