THE BEST SEGA GENESIS GAMES OF ALL TIME?
It's very hard to select among over one thousand games released for the console... Unfortunately too many good games had to stay out of the list below... I have a list with my best 350 Genesis games in my blog segaclassics, if about 50 games graded as "A+" and even that list is not long enough for so many good games.

32. Shadow Dancer A+
31. Ranger X A+

@JLH - Hey, brother! It was simply not enough time spent with Bloodlines. But the more I've played it over the last few years, the more I've come to appreciate its uniqueness in the more linear line of Castlevania games.

Don't get me wrong; I still believe SCV IV is an outstanding game, but I believe I've played myself out on it. I know it too well. I've got the thing memorized and could probably beat the thing in my sleep. But I love the challenge and incredible graphics and soundtrack of Bloodlines. Yes, I actually believe Bloodlines is the better game!

@JWK I'm also of the opinion that Bloodlines is superior to Super Castlevania IV - as good a game as SCIV, I always felt there was a certain sluggishness to the movement; in contrast, Bloodlines is fast and silky smooth. Also, the two very different characters in Bloodlines give the game a greater degree of replayability.

Good lists. Happy to see Shining Force II get love, but what about Shining Force I? Sure 2 is better, but if you loved that game you would probably at least like the 1st game.

Anyone play Powerball? I love that game. It's fun with a friend, but fun against the computer too. Playing with the Samurai is a fun challenge.

My top 5 Genesis games:

1 Twinkle Tale (Favorite run and gun game ever!)

2 Dragon's Fury (hours just melt away playing this game)

3. Y's 3 (This game introduced my to action RPG's when I was a kid, it is a bit to short)

4. Lightening Force (Favorite Shmup just beating out MUSHA)

5. Streets of Rage 2 (I don't even like beatem'ups but this game is so much fun)

2 of my choices aren't even exclusives but I don't care the Genesis versions are my favorites. I own the TG16 versions of Y's 3 and Devil's crush and I still like Genesis version more for different reasons.

Why do so many people on the Internet do this? It's Ys. The games take place in a land called Ys. Nothing belongs to the letter Y in any of them.

Your right. So I'll remember in the future I'll just spell it phonetically and call it Ease.

Thank God for people like you on the Internet correcting all the world's wrongs. Keep making the Internet a better place.
