The Video Game Critic

Our artist Mark had a great idea for a head-to-head icons - two Joust ostriches facing each other.
Problem was, they were too small for a 32x32 icon.

I decided that one ostrich was enough to get the point across, so check it out:

Now comes the fun part!
You'll notice I've only applied it to two recently-reviewed games.
Smithereens and Space War are so head-to-head they barely even support single-player action.

So what other games should I apply this to?
Please don't go off the deep end listing all the one-on-one fighters or anything like that.
We want to apply this judiciously.

I don't think I would apply this icon to sports games, except in rare cases.
I do think gunfighter style games like Outlaw would qualify.
Also, certain strategy games.

Once you review it I'd say that icon applies for 1-2 Switch definitely.

Combat (Atari 2600)
Micro Machines 2 (Genesis, it even has a mode titled 'Head-to-Head')
Joust....?

I agree with Combat, Joust, and 1-2 Switch.

Spitfire would be a candidate, except we're trying to focus on games with exceptional head-to-head action, and that game is kind of mediocre.

I think Rocket League would qualify.

Windjammers

Every fighting game.

Games in the Worms series, for sure. My wife and I have put close to 100 hours into the Dreamcast releases.

I just added the head-to-head icon to a ton of games. What I did was scan for the term "head-to-head" in my reviews and found all sorts of really obvious candidates. I'm not done but I think I covered a lot of ground.
