PAX events

Anyone ever been to any of the PAX events? If so, any thoughts on them?
The closest one to me is PAX East in Boston, which is in April. I saw that they still have tickets available for a couple of the days. I try to check out a couple retro gaming and pinball festivals each year, but figured PAX might be a good change of pace, since it focuses more on newer games and technology. At the same time, I picture it being massive crowds, long lines, and plenty of annoying kids/teens/etc.. Curious if anyone here has been.
