Interest? Yes, but only if it's very cheap; I don't know if there's anything I want to listen to on AM.

I like the idea of reviewing those consoles, but we in Europe often have different models... I guess you'll be reviewing the USA editions?

One of my favorite consoles is the 'Wii mini'. It doesn't have access to the internet and you can't use GameCube controllers, but for the rest it's really easy to use and user-friendly. The worst designed console (not counting handhelds... Nokia N-Gage...) I own is probably the Philips CD-i 210... that model is gigantic! Also, it only has one controller-port on the front, the other is on the back. Furthermore the original CD-i remote 'controller' (see picture) deservers a place as worst controller!

I like the idea. You may have your hands full, since many consoles have multiple models. You'll also have to consider whether being "big" is a good/bad factor in design.

I personally like the Atari 2600 light sixer, though the controller may hold it back. Also the Genesis Model 1 (without add-ons); very sleek. The Jaguar and NES are some of the worst.

I’ve always liked the Saturn, look at it - it looks like a beast, it looks powerful and for me this had the best controllers until the DualShock 4 (I strongly disagree with the Critic on the DS4, I think it’s the best controller yet).

Worst:
Virtual Boy
C’mon look at the thing it looks more like a torture device than a game system or a scrapped Star Wars droid.

I'm probably gonna get a bit of flack for this, but to me, the Sega Master System gets my vote for one of the worst designed game consoles ever. Sure, it's perfectly functional, and there's a lot of really good games for the system. But I've never really liked the design of the thing, as it just doesn't have that sleek, sexy, cutting edge look that a well designed console should have. Imho, it looks more like a government building than anything else.

Additionally, I'm also not a huge fan of the re-designed version that came out a few years later near the end of the system's life cycle..

If you have ever seen Cartoon Network's Regular Show, the two main characters play a Sega Master System.

I like the system. The controller ports are in the front, its a lot more attractive than the NES, and its a top loader.

I still don't know what the purpose is of that "flow chart" diagram on front of the Sega Master System. Did they need something to fill that space??

Quick question for the board: If we're talking about the best and worst designed consoles, should we also extend that to the box cover artwork and the cartridge design is for each console we happen to bring up as well? Just a thought.
