No; packaging styles and media can change through a system's life. Just focus on the console itself; leave the rest of the system for another day. :)

I think the original Sega Genesis has one of the best designs of all of my game systems. It just looks really nice. My only criticism would be that for stereo sound, you need to use the headphone jack.

Not a big fan of the cartridge design though. They look bland compared with other systems, though the plastic boxes are the best.
