..I agreed with most of your opinions in the Genesis review
EXCEPT the console design. I got one of the very first genny
consoles in '89 and I thought it looked SUPER COOL , like
a black spaceship of some kind. The "16BIT" bosted of
its power, the only true 16bit at the time. And yes,
I DID use the stereo headphone jack which improved
the sound greatly, espec. if you hooked it up
to your stereo.
Anybody else like it?

at the time, it looked pretty cool, nowadays, its just cheap looking... though that may have more to do with the fact that it is the most common console found at thrift stores and flea markets

I like the model 2 more but the model 1 is still cool. Even if it does have has 16 bit printed on it in big letters.

I also loved the model 1 when it came out, and I also agree that its abundance on thrift store shelves in less than presentable condition makes it look a bit on the cheap side now. But back in the day.... oh how I coveted that system!!!

Bits are just a marketing term. They don't matter as much as Mhz or RAM. They're irrelevant nowadays.

My Genesis review is based on how the thing looks NOW, not when it was brand new. And that goes for everything on this site.

In that case the TG-16 looks like he!! and I, on
the other hand, have aged quite splendidly. No
16BITGRAPHICS on this baby!

Considering that I live frugally and don't have an elaborate stereo system, headphone jacks would be nice on the more modern systems!
