My next game download?

Postby VideoGameCritic » May 14th, 2011, 7:19 pm

As we speak I am downloading Hydro Thunder Hurricane from Xbox Live.  I've wanted this one for a while, but I waited because it looks like a warm-weather game.

I have more points to burn, so what game would you recommend??

I will definitely be buying the new Xbox Live 3-pack disk, which includes Trial HD, Limbo, and Splosion Man.  Didn't see it at Best Buy so I'll probably order it from Amazon.

I'd like to get your take on Bionic Commando Rearmed.

I'm thinking about downloading it to my laptop but I might wait till I upgrade to a HD console.

Outrun Online Arcade is a great game and you've enjoyed both Outrun 2 and Outrun 2006 on last generation consoles. It's very nice to see the new additions from Outrun 2006 running in HD. I'm not sure if the sale is still going on, but it was just 400 points very recently compared to the usual 800 which is all the more reason to pick it up. Furthermore, it's a summer game if I ever saw one so it seems like a perfect buy for you.

It's slated to be delisted at some point this year (Which refers to new sales of the game being disabled, since Sega's Ferrari license is expiring and they don't intend to renew it, so they can't continue to sell this). So if you have any interest in it at all, grab it while you still can.

Delisting won't affect the ability of owners of the game to play or redownload the game as necessary, if that concerns you.

Mega Man 9 is good, but even harder than the older ones. I love Scott Pilgrim v The World but I think you already have that one. Either way, invest more time in it so you can level up and buy some books from the bookstore at the end of the first level to increase your stats. The game is much more fun after you do that.

Torchlight is a great game if you like Diablo 2, Balder's Gate and games like that.  Also, the two DeathSpank games are excellent as well.

Braid, The Dishwasher, and Scott Pilgrim get my vote as three viable choices.

Also there are several free to download XBLA titles such as Aegis Wing, Doritos Crash Course, Dash of Destruction and Harms Way.  I prefer my XBLA games to be free and some of those are pretty decent with a big fat price tag of $0.00!
