Mario Kart 64 Vs. Diddy Kong Racing
Which game is better?
I grew up on Mario Kart 64 and have a lot of fond memories from that game. I still love it to this day. But I prefer Diddy Kong Racing. The single player experience (adventure mode!) is much better than MK64's, the graphics are better, the courses are more interesting, and you can drive more than one vehicle.
In terms of multiplayer, MK64 wins, but DKR has the edge in single player and in general. What do you guys think?

Diddy Kong Racing all the way!
MK64 is sweet, and has better multiplayer, but Diddy just has so much more to offer, and its single player mode absolutely STOMPS MK64.

Yeah, agree with you both. MK64 has better multiplayer (even though DKR has more multiplayer modes ... Hot Top Volcano used to be a lot of fun). Actually, I like MK64's multiplayer better than the GC / Wii iterations.
DKR has a pretty awesome "Adventure" mode. It's a kart game with bosses, for Pete's (or Patricia's) sake!
But for what it's worth, MK64 is the more polished game ... DKR seemed to be of the mindset that "more is better," and pushed as many game modes into it as possible. As such, some of the game modes are lacking (like the "shoot-the-other-karts" battle mode. Not enough tracks!)

I can name 3 games better than Mario Kart 64,period! And Naughty Dogs attempt with Crash is NOT one of those 3.
I can name a few racers on the N64 alone better than Diddy Kong Racing.
It's a curb stomp battle and not in Rare's favor. Mario Kart 64 has more interesting level designs, its fast paced, the AI isn't idiotic, and there is far more strategy.
I Diddy Kong Racing points for trying to add a story, but it seems there more to slow down the racing than add something,it's awkward to control, especially the planes and the characters are nowhere near as interesting. All the levels are kinda bland in comparison to stuff like Rainbow Road or DK's Jungle Parkway, and the "items" are nowhere near as useful.
Mario Kart 64 wins by a country mile.
Mickey's Speedway vs Diddy Kong Racing is a better comparison, because it just isn't here.

Personally, I've always liked DKR more then Mario Kart 64. I think DKR overall is a much better game and would much rather race people on it vs. Mario Kart 64. Still, far more people are competent on MK64 so it's easier to get a good race going.

I'm really big on both of them. In terms of control and feel, Mario Kart, in terms of "holy crap this game is a huge adventure", Diddy Kong Racing. Never did unlock T.T. in Diddy Kong Racing though. D:
