The article about Sonic the Hegehog 2 needs to be corrected about its zones. It actually has a total of 11 zones, with the first seven each having two acts while the next one has three acts and the last three each having only one act.

Its nice to read the 2014 re-reviews. I've been replaying many Genesis games over the winter, including all 4 Sonics, and I was reminded that they are all fantastic games.  I can still remember seeing the original Sonic and I couldn't believe the speed, graphical detail, and awesome music. 

The only things about Sonic 2 I'd say is a negative is that 2nd-player-Tails isn't very useful (this was improved in Sonic 3), and that the game is a wee bit too long with no way to save. I also grow weary by the end. 

Fantastic games though.

Yeah, I finally beat Sonic 2 last weekend. I usually get burned out by the Oil Zone but I just stocked up on continues and beat the game. I tried your idea and it worked great. He was much easier this time compared to the last time I gave it a try.
