Great review critic. I consider it the best and certainly the most innovative 2d platformer of the 7th generation that didn't have "Rayman" in the title. Yes, that includes the New Super Mario games on Wii Nd DS.

I actually picked up this game when I saw your forum post for it like 2 weeks ago (gamestop was doing a 30% off sale so I picked this up). I played a bit of it and enjoyed it. The graphics are really nice and it is definitely a standout title for the ps3. It's a shame it didn't really get a lot of attention because it is definitely a fun game. Thanks for the review.

I know I sound like a jaded jerk, but the second I read "Stars a cloth boy named Kitaro (Kintaro?) who tries to overthrow the Moon Bear King" I lost interest. It sounds like another one of those "humans are the ultimate good" type games(Which means basically humans and ONLY humans can be good, everything else is evil).

No, and sue me but "humans are the ultimate good" type settings remove any form of enjoyment I could have from any form of media.

You can buy Puppeteer for less than $20 on Amazon (Free shipping if you have a Prime Account).  There is no excuse not to own this one if you got a PS3.


It's just surprising that a game made by Sony Studios Japan got so little attention.  I realize that it's a odd, whimsical 2D platformer...but it's an excellent 1st party release.  Why not throw some hype and generate some buzz?  I feel like that is one of Sony's big problems is that they don't highlight the unique games that they offer on their systems.  Maybe it's just me...or maybe they realized that the game wouldn't be a big seller regardless.

Anywho...great game.  Every PS3 owner should have it in their collection.

Am I the only one who sees the resemblance to Dynamite Headdy for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive? (Which I guess is all the more reason for me to track down this game and get it if I purchase a PS3)

Anyway, Good Review as... almost always... Still waiting for an Action 52 review...
